Flump.net

I was with Flump.net for about 2 years before leaving not because of problems, but because I found a product more suited to my needs.

Flump do a range of hosting packages from the £12 (+vat) per annum Starter package to the Platinum £200(+vat) package.

In my 2 years on the starter package with a small website I had no issues that I am aware of. I saw no downtime, the site loaded quickly (Flump have servers in the UK and in the USA)I found cPanel easy to learn and use and I was very happy.

The only time I had to contact Flump support was to end my hosting with them, which they handled promptly with no fuss and good contact.

I needed mySQL support and this is available on the £50(+vat) Silver package or above. I found an alternative host that provided mySQL support on a cheaper package.

From my experience with Flump.net, I can say that the Starter package is ideal for someone wanting to explore web site hosting with a low cost but reliable service. Assuming the level of service is the same across the Product range, Flump looks ideal as a reliable no-fuss host.

However, with the increasing use of mySQL content management systems, (Wordpress, Mambo etc) Flump may find themselves losing out on custom to Hosts providing sub £50 packages with mySQL included. They may wish to review their product range with this in mind.
