Summary: Don't use them.

I have the same problem as the person above. If you Google around you will see they love screwing over their customers. They have a highly strike policy about renewing. Basically, they don't remind you in advance and just bill for another full year. Then they won't give you a refund and you can't get your money back. If they were more flexible it would encourage customers to setup new emails without worry and would stop customer like me complaining.


Also, we found their Zimbra and Nexgen accounts to be really slow with frequent problems. Some days it was painfully slow and we only have 20 email boxes.

Their free spam filtering is also very poor and so you have to sign up for Positini spam filtering. This is another Google service which you get free with Google Mail. So when you sign up for Zimbra you need to include Postini in the cost of the service. They do offer Google accounts but why won't you just buy this direct from Google?

Basically, moral of the review. Don't use Simply Mail Solutions and find someone else. Google Apps anyone?

Summary: SMS and stupid billing

Simply Mail Solutions have been good providers of web-hosting and email services but have seriously disappointed me with their billing system.

We were wanting to remove one of our mail boxes from the service following the departure of a member of staff. Our service was due to renew on 1 Feb 2011 and we received a renewal notice at 5am on 31 January 2011. Three minutes later my credit card was charged for the full year ahead for all the services including those we wished to cancel. I emailed them as soon as I saw this (not at 5am!) but was told that I was too late and that my unwanted mailbox would be cancelled in a year's time and that I would have to pay for it for an entire year.

Pretty poor service.
