Summary: Bionic Hosting
Posted: November 8th, 2008 (Last Edited: November 8th, 2008)
I personally had a nagative experience with Bionic Hosting. In my specific case I had a website for my business that I had registered and hosted w/ Bionic. The website was down due to an NDS issue that Bionic support was not able to resolve for over 13 calendar days.

While they could identify the issue- they could not fix it as they were unable to login to their reseller account with the registrar (eNom) due to a financial conflict. As it was explained to me Bionic used PayPal to pay their vendors, and paypal locked their account- and thus their registrar had a negative account with them as well.

I found it impossible to get through on the phone numbers provided by Bionic, but eventually was given a number I could use. I was in daily contact tracking this issue.

The resolution was not forthcoming with Bionic- and so I asked the registrar to release my domains to me- and I got them re-hosted w another provider. I found the registrar, eNom, to be both flexible and commercially oriented.

In all fairness, I could have purchased a higher level account w Bionic to get true 24/7 phone support. I feel their website advertising a litle misleading in this regard. It is also my opinion that when you fill in self-service tickets that you deserve an update on them on a regular basis. I do not feel that occurred. I felt I had to chase them. While I did speak to the owner eventually, he was not keen to advertise his financial issues with paypal and eNom. That said, I think if you keep customers informed that they will work with you.

In my opinion, I would not recommend using Bionic for business hosting. They do however offer an economic solution for private/personal websites and if you don't need a strict SLA- they may work well for you.

Posted: October 7th, 2008 (Last Edited: October 7th, 2008)

after two days that they haven't managed to solve a simple file permission issue I decided to ask for my money back since was in the 30 day period. they told me: "you don't get your money back" then was banner from forum. How is that?!

Also they have probably lied about having su-exec enabled on their server.
